Winter

An interplay between image and text, between time and thought, and between the two. Winter was inspired by The Child's Death in Bethlehem, painted by Pieter Bruegel the Elder. This work fascinates me with its composition, its quiet menace and its winter landscape. My walks in Houffalize - where I shot winter scenes for my animation Pieter - are linked to my thoughts about Brueghel. What remains is an empty landscape, a stillness where image and text work together.
